At Wellington Catholic, all students, regardless of their social, emotional, behavioural, physical and developmental abilities will experience a sense of belonging and of being included in our community, reflecting our commitment to the pursuit of inclusion strategies throughout our practices and services.Course modifications and accommodations are noted on the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). This plan is a collaborative process that is ongoing between the school, student and parent. Exceptional students on an IEP are given every opportunity to achieve the curriculum expectations of their courses of study.
An important goal at all Wellington Catholic schools is to ensure that students graduate from high school so that they may move on to the pathway destination of their choice: Apprenticeship, College, University or Work.
Since every student learns differently, there are numerous innovative programs that help take students beyond the traditional classroom.
Highlighted here is an overview of some of Wellington Catholic’s exciting programs for students in this area.
