​Presently Wellington Catholic District School board has two full time ELL Resource teachers that work at our Elementary and Secondary schools. Newcomers to our board are given an initial assessment by the ELL resource teacher that is assigned to their school. Students are placed on the Steps Toward English Proficiency ( STEP) continuum and their classroom work is either accommodated or modified accordingly. Direct service in the schools is given by the ELL Resource teachers to those students who are at STEP 1 and 2 in their English proficiency. For students at STEP 3-6 the ELL Resource teacher plans with the classroom teachers so that the student can achieve success.
