Board Chair, Marino Gazzola, delivered his Inaugural Address at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday, January 15, 2018.
Highlighting the 175 year legacy and tradition of excellence in Catholic Education was a strong theme throughout Gazzola’s address. He spoke to the responsibility of leaders to steward our resources and to promote Catholic Education.
Speaking to fellow trustees Gazzola, emphasized: “The students are entrusted by their parents and guardians into our care, and we are expected to make decisions that are in the best interest of those students… Working together as one system we are dynamic, and we can accomplish great things, which ultimately will achieve the goal of helping our students achieve and be the best they can be.”
He acknowledged both the challenge and opportunity we have as a community to encourage one another to live the values that we hold which are often at odds with the prevailing values of our society and to encourage the capability, possibility and the promise in every person we encounter. The address ended with Gazzola acknowledging the dedicated and caring Wellington Catholic staff for their continued hard work and dedication to the mission and most importantly success for all students.
