On Tuesday, January 24th, senior students taking Visual Art courses invited all classes to come by their classroom for a gallery walk of amazing samples of their course work, projects and favourite pieces. The BMac Visual Art program is led by a talented group of teachers and the flavour and depth of pieces that are produced by students are simply outstanding. Art like many other elective courses, are terrific ways for students to truly discover who they are, their learning styles, their creative energy and how they make sense of themselves and the world around them. Nice stuff Celtics...Consider one of these courses by meeting with one of the visual art teachers or guidance counselors to find out more!
This senior course focuses on enabling students to refine their use of the creative process when creating and presenting two- and three-dimensional art works using a variety of traditional and emerging media and technologies. Students will use the critical
analysis process to deconstruct art works and explore connections between art and society. The studio program enables students to explore a range of materials, processes, and technologies that can be applied in their own art productions. Students will also make connections between various works of art in personal, contemporary, historical and
cultural contexts. Students will create a fully documented portfolio of their current artworks to
communicate their creative achievement.
