Wellington Catholic DSB Selects Chair and Vice-Chair for Coming Year

The Wellington Catholic District School Board Trustees selected their Chair and Vice-Chair for the coming year at the Board's Inaugural Meeting Monday evening.

Returning for a third term as Wellington Catholic DSB Chair is Vikki Dupuis. Dupuis has served the Wellington Catholic DSB for over 25 years, earning the honourable Ontario Catholic Trustees Association Trustee Award of Merit in 2019. As a champion of equity and empowering youth leaders, she brings valuable knowledge, experience, and leadership to the Board.

“I am grateful and honoured to once again be re-elected as Chair and to continue to work with my fellow trustees to advocate for a quality faith-based education and school experience for all of our students, from the time they enter our system until their graduation. Serving our community in this capacity is a privilege,” shared Dupuis. “Our focus as a Board is to support the hard work of our administration and staff in fostering safe, welcoming, and equitable learning environments within our schools.”

Sebastian Dal Bo will also return as Vice-Chair, serving alongside Dupuis. Another longstanding member of the Wellington Catholic DSB, Sebastian has served as trustee for the past ten years which has included previous terms as vice-chair. As a former principal and teacher with the Wellington Catholic District School Board, Trustee Dal Bo brings experience and a strong connection to the district in this role.

"It is my priority to continue to support excellence in Catholic education and strong connections with our families, parishes and schools in the coming year. We have a lot of good things happening in our Catholic schools and I want to continue to highlight the efforts of our students and staff.  Having served the Wellington Catholic community as both a principal and teacher, I know our school board well and intend to support a model of good governance that will allow our system to continue to thrive,” said Dal Bo. “It is a true honour to serve alongside Vikki once again as Vice-Chair.”

In their service as Chair and Vice-Chair, Dupius and Dal Bo, trustees will focus on student achievement and well-being, participating in making decisions that benefit the entire school board.

Each will serve a term of one year and carry out their duties until next November.
