The Vulnerable Persons Registry is a community-based collaborative policing initiative that promotes communication between vulnerable persons, the people who support them, and the police.
This information will assist officers when responding to an emergency involving the vulnerable individual. The registry provides quick access to critical information about a registered person, such as who to call in an emergency, a detailed physical description, and any particular sensitivities that the person may experience. Registration is completely voluntary. The database is to help alleviate safety concerns for those that are vulnerable in our community.
The goal of the VPR is to provide police with quick access to critical information about a registered person so the officer can assist in an emergency situation. In an emergency situation, the VPR registrant's personal information will be provided to Guelph Police Services personnel on scene. Information may be shared with other first responders as deemed appropriate to provide effective assistance to the Vulnerable Person.
