​​FITNESS AND WELLNESS RE-ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM
 
This program is a great reset for students who are struggling with attendance and personal well being. Over 4 weeks, students transform themselves using Positive Psychology and Personal Fitness as well as the support of a college instructor and high school teacher.
 
Courses are as follows:
 
Group Fitness leadership 1 (FIT 1045):
 
This course focuses on applying the principles of group fitness instruction through practical demonstrations that incorporate the professional skills and expectations required of group fitness leaders.  Topics include class design, music, cueing and effective leadership as well as safety concepts in relation to group exercise.  Students will practice and demonstrate effective group fitness leadership skills by conducting group fitness classes. 
 

Positive Psychology (PSYC1140)

Introduces the concept of wellness and provides strategies to develop a healthy lifestyle. Students explore stress-management, self-responsibility, physical fitness, nutrition, and social interaction, relationship between feelings and thinking and rationale for holistic health alternatives.
