Kindergarten Registration Process
We’ve made registering for Kindergarten at the Wellington Catholic District School Board a simple, step-by-step process:
Step 1. Determine School
Verify your admission eligibility and confirm your local school of attendance before starting the registration process. To determine your local Catholic school and transportation eligibility, visit www.findmyschool.ca and follow these steps:
- Click on "Which school do I attend?"
- Enter your house number, street and city.
- Beside "Board", select Wellington Catholic District School Board.
- Beside "Grade", PK4 for Year 1 Kindergarten, K for Year 2 Kindergarten, etc.
- Click Submit button.
- To confirm eligibility for Transportation, select "View Transportation Eligibility"
Step 2. Begin the Online Registration Process
Click on the following link to pre-register: Online Pre-Registration Form
Pre-registering provides our staff with general information about your child and family. Rest assured, this information is kept confidential. After pre-registering, you will receive an email containing a unique registration code for your child. Please store this code in a safe place for future use. The email will also include a link to complete the online registration process. (Please allow a couple of days for this email to arrive.)
Step 3. Complete the Online Registration
Use the link and registration code provided in the email to finish the registration process. Have important details, like emergency contact information, readily available to complete the registration.
Step 4. Visit the School - Meet School Staff and Verify Information
Schedule a meeting with the school to meet the staff and finalize your child’s admission.
Parents and guardians will be required to provide the following documents to complete registration, please ensure you have these documents ready:
- Proof of Age (e.g. Birth Certificate, Birth Registration Form, Baptismal Certificate, Canadian Citizenship/Permanent Resident Card, Passport, & custodial documents, if applicable)
- Child or Parents Baptismal Certificate (If your child is not baptized and both parents are non-Catholic, we welcome families who are seeking a faith-based education for their children in our Catholic schools. Families who are seeking admission through our non-Catholic admissions are asked to contact the school where they will meet with our principal and fill out the following WCDSB Non-Catholic Student Request Form. You are welcome to complete this form ahead of your meeting. - Immunization Record (Please submit directly to Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health)
- Proof of Address (e.g. utility/tax bill, purchase/lease agreement, phone (landline)/cable/internet bill. A driver’s license, bank/credit card statements or cell phone bills are not accepted.)
- Verification of date of arrival/immigration documents (if child was not born in Canada)
If Applicable:
- Custody Documents
- School Records (Report cards, IEPs, Student transcripts)
- Proof of Tax Support for any new families (i.e. most recent tax bill)

Registering in IB PYP at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Guelph
Sacred Heart IB PYP School Registration: For information about registering at Sacred Heart - Guelph's school site in the only International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) offered within Guelph and Wellington County, please click here. There are limited program spaces available for IB PYP so a random selection process will be used if registration during the open period exceeds the number of spaces available. We ask that if you are interested in learning more please reach out to Sacred Heart - Guelph for more information.
