Mary Phelan Catholic School Unveils Vibrant Mural Celebrating Creativity and Community

This year, Mary Phelan
Catholic School unveiled a stunning new mural that celebrates creativity and
community.
The mural features an image of potted flowers by Brother Mickey
McGrath, accompanied by digitized drawings of flowers created by the school’s grade
3 students (now grade 4). Inspired by Brother Mickey's work, the students spent
time crafting their own artistic interpretations, bringing vibrancy and life to
the project.
The mural project was
brought to life through a collaboration with M&T Graphics Factory, a unique
District Graphic Design Co-op Program. High school students in the program
applied their design skills to digitize and enhance the elementary students' artwork.
Brother Mickey
McGrath’s artwork, which resonates deeply with the school board, includes a
quote by St. Francis de Sales: The Church is a
Multi-Coloured Garden. This message, beautifully displayed alongside the
students' work, reflects the collective spirit of the school community.
The completed mural
with the incredible work of our students, brings much joy to the school and
will be a cherished addition for years to come.
