How math shapes your pathway
To earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), students must complete three compulsory math credits, with at least one credit in Grade 11 or 12. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves by taking the highest level of math where they can achieve true success, meaning they have mastered the skills needed for the next course.
Many post-secondary pathways have high school math credit requirements.
High school math courses have different names depending on the grade and pathway. Courses beyond Grade 9 have prerequisites, so planning ahead is important. Students are encouraged to use myBlueprint to create a plan.
