
Wellington Catholic DSB Announces Sandra Cummings as New Superintendent of Student Achievement
February 3, 2026 | For Immediate Release | The Wellington Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandra Cummings as its new Superintendent of Student Achievement.
Cummings, a respected Catholic educator and seasoned leader, has over 25 years of education experience rooted in commitment to student achievement, equity, mental health, and faith formation. She is a longstanding member of the Wellington Catholic DSB community and has held multiple roles since joining the board in 2007, most recently serving as Principal of St. John Bosco Catholic High School and Wellington Catholic’s Online School and Continuing Education program. She has also held principal, vice‑principal, chaplain, and teacher positions at St. James Catholic High School.
“We are delighted to welcome Sandra to our senior leadership team,” said Mike Glazier, Director of Education of the Wellington Catholic DSB. “Her dedication to student well‑being, faith-centered leadership approach, and extensive system knowledge will greatly benefit our board and the families we serve. We look forward to the expertise and guidance she will bring to this role.”
Throughout her career, Cummings has demonstrated excellence in strengthening school communities and supporting the diverse needs of students. She has played a pivotal role in advancing numerous equity and inclusion initiatives, special education programming, supporting principal learning in mentally healthy schools and safe schools initiatives, and expanding experiential learning opportunities for students.
“Sandra brings a wealth of system experience and a genuine commitment to our students and families,” said Vikki Dupuis, Chair of the Wellington Catholic DSB. “I know that she will bring exceptional leadership to our board and continue to make a positive impact on student achievement and faith formation.”

Cummings will begin serving Wellington Catholic DSB as Superintendent of Student Achievement later this month.
