Nearly 22 per cent of students in grades 7-12 reported gambling last year in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph. Did you know that some video games contain gambling elements? This can contribute to adolescents’ increasing exposure to gambling, which can be harmful as they transition into adulthood.
On October 29, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., join Dr. Matthew Tenenbaum, Associate Medical Officer of Health at WDG Public Health, and Sylvie Smith, a therapist specializing in addiction and mental health from Homewood Health Centre’s Community Addiction Services, for an online session to learn more about the impacts of youth gaming and gambling, and strategies parents can practice at home to help their children.
