Guidelines Governing Pupil Accommodation Reviews
Wellington Catholic DSB is committed to effective accommodation planning to support student success and responsible stewardship of Board facilities. Accommodation planning is guided by Ministry of Education guidelines, the Board’s Pupil Accommodation Review Policy, and the Long-Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP).
What is the Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) and why is it important?
The Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) is a document that identifies the Board's short and long-term accommodation needs. The LTAP informs decisions related to new schools, additions, attendance boundary changes, school consolidations or closures, and community partnerships and helps prioritize projects for Ministry of Education funding requests. As responsible stewards, we strive ensure that our school facilities provide optimum physical learning environments, build on our tradition of excellence and adapt to the needs of a globalized world, informed by our Catholic values.
Long Term Enrolment Projections
Student enrolment projections inform planning and decision-making activities in all departments. These figures form the basis of the Annual Preliminary Accommodation Report to the Board, assist with long term accommodation planning and provide information for various Ministry reporting requirements. The Board utilizes a Demographic Consultant, Watson & Associates Economists, to produce the enrolment projections and updates.
