What is a Dual Credit?
Dual Credit programs are programs approved by the Ministry of Education that allow students, while they are still in secondary school, to take college or apprenticeship courses that count towards both their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and a postsecondary certificate, diploma, or degree, or a Certificate of Apprenticeship.
Students may earn credits towards their secondary school diploma through courses delivered by Conestoga College through our partnerships in the School College Work Initiative. Students may earn up to four optional credits through college-delivered courses.
Dual Credits are college courses that count on both a secondary school diploma as well as toward a college program. Dual Credit students are supported by secondary school teachers in their transition to college.

How to Apply
All students applying for a Dual Credit Program must fill out the 2024-2025 Application form, the Conestoga College Consent form and the Parent Letter linked below:

Once you have completed your application, you will be contacted for an interview to ensure readiness for the program.

1. Where do I go for more information about the Dual Credit Program?

2. Can I apply for any program offered in the DC program?
a) All Wellington Catholic students have access to one or more programs. The approved funding for transportation dictates which programs available to each school.
3. I'm concerned about leaving my home school to go to college as a high school student. Need I be?
a) Not at all! While DC courses are taught by college faculty, a secondary school teacher will be at the college to support you and help you with the transition to college. You will also have an opportunity to meet students from other Wellington Catholic schools as well as students from our partner school boards
4. What is the passing mark for a Dual Credit course?
a) The passing mark varies, depending on the College offering the course, and the Pathway you've chosen. See the individual program descriptions for the passing mark for each DC course.
