Well-Being Health and Youth (WHY) Survey
The Well-being and Health Youth (WHY) Survey is used to collect information from youth, parents, and school staff about youth health and well-being. The surveys are collected in partnership with Public Health and are crucial in assessing our progress on anti-bullying efforts, our school climate work, and on our mental health and well-being initiatives.
The survey will run from October 20 through November 21. All students in Grades 4 through 12 will be asked to complete the survey, along with their parents and all school staff. Students will complete the survey in-class. A link to the parent survey along with additional information about the WHY Survey will be shared with families via email.
The survey asks questions about your child’s physical activity, eating habits, time spent with family and friends, bullying, sense of safety, alcohol and drug use, and school involvement, among other topics. All information collected will be confidential and the students will not be identified individually. Your child’s name and any other information that could identify your child will not be collected.
