Today, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board has announced that Wellington Catholic Superintendent, Tyrone Dowling, will be their new Director of Education effective September 1, 2022.
Dowling currently serves as Superintendent of Education for the Bishop Macdonell CHS and Our Lady of Lourdes CHS Families of Schools and holds responsibilities for Equity and Inclusion, Indigenous Education, Mental Health, Elementary Program,School Effectiveness, among others. Dowling joined the Wellington Catholic DSB executive team in August 2020, after serving as principal with Waterloo Catholic DSB. He has successfully led a wide and varied portfolio as a member over the past two years and our school board has benefited immensely from his initiative and efforts.
We congratulate Tyrone on this well-deserved appointment as Director of Education. We are grateful for Tyrone’s leadership within our organization and wish him much success in this new role.
